Although I've read a lot over my life, I recently consistently feel I'm not reading as much as I want.  I tend to prefer non-fiction books, although my all-time favorite reads are both fiction.  They are the Dune series (by Frank Herbert), and A Song of Ice and Fire (by G.R.R. Martin).  Both are actually written in the same style: POV chapters from different characters perspectives throughout the books.  A very difficult but effective and rewarding style.
